Pictured here is the remains of the first clubhouse used by the Annaghdown team in Cregg. It’s an old railway carriage that was brought from Mullingar by Patrick Meehan on his lorry in 1975. As there was no access to the pitch at that time, a wall had to be knocked on the Cregg road and the carriage dismantled and brought in through private land. It was used as a dressing room until replaced in 1982 by the new clubhouse. The new extension opened on this Bank Holiday Monday can be seen in the background.
