The Galway Ladies All Ireland Senior Football Champions got a huge welcome last Friday night when they arrived at our club grounds in Cregg. There were bonefires all along the way up through Cahermorris, Glenrevagh, Tumnahulla and into Aughclogeen and finally Cregg. The team and officials were welcomed by the Annaghdown Ladies Football Team along with hundreds of local well wishers. Among the members of the panel were local girls Niamh Duggan and Fiona Wynne (pictured above) who brought the first All-Ireland Senior GAA medals into the parish. Lorraine Scully spoke on behalf of the Annaghdown Ladies Team while Seamus Finnerty, Br. Conal and local Councillor Mary Hoade also expressed their best wishes. Well done to the team, we are proud of you.
