Senior Footballers vs Mouthbellew/Moylough in first League Outing

Michael Melia copes under pressure

A understrenght Senior Football team lost out narrowly to Mountbellew/Moylough 2-7 to 2-6. After a lack lustre first half display, we trailed by six points at half time. However, a much improved second half performance, the highlight of which was a brilliant goal by Frankie burke, meant that we trailed by just a minimum at the final whistle. We had fine performances from Adrian Fitzpatrick, Benny Newell, Brian Qualter and Frankiw Burke while Ronan Leonard was excellent at midfield. Team: John Mannion, Vinny Small(capt0, Adrian Fitzpatrick, Benny Newell, Anthony Pender, Paul Creaven, Martin O'Neill, Ronan Leonard, Alan Kavanagh, Brendan Dooley, Brian Qualter, Michael Melia, Frankie Burke, Carl Leonard and Damien Burke. Subs used were Johnny Murphy and Liam O'Flynn.
