This Fotofile starts with a Picture of the Annaghdown U14 Team and Mentors who won the 1988 U14 'B' Football Championship final. The team was coached by Frank Small and Tom Naughton.

In 2006 with full employment and the booming economy we have in Ireland we tend to forget what things were like back the decades when work was hard to get and money scarce. A lot of people were forced to immigrate to find employment. The 1980's seen a lot of immigration from the parish and our second picture of the Galway Boston Gaelic Football team that won the 1989 North American League. Included are several past and present members of the Annaghdown GAA club including Shay Hughes, Frank Broderick and Kevin Scully.

Ollie Turner launched the Club Development Draw in Lydon's on Friday night Jan 13th 2006; this was a limited draw offering prize money of 30,000 with a Mondeo as the top prize. The money is to go towards developing our third pitch. Tickets cost 50.

Our fourth picture is of the Parish Ploughing Match held in Regan's Land in Clonboo in February. We have a series photographs on the website taken by local photographic enthusiast Kevin O Connell. Click here for to see the Gallery.

The next two photographs are off club players who represented Galway during the spring. The first one of Frankie Burke in action for Galway during the FBD League final in Tuam Stadium in which he scored a all important goal. The second one shows David Brady and Niall Coleman during the National Football League semi-final in McHale Park, Castlebar.

Going back in time we have a school picture of Corrandulla N.S. from the 1940's. Any old pictures from the parish are welcome.

Our next three pictures are of our recent Lotto winners. The photos are of Noel Halloran, Glenrevagh receiving his cheque from Gerry Farragher, Patrick O Brien, Slievefin getting his cheque from Declan Regan and finally Willie Moran, Ballindiff receiving his cheque from Micheal Faherty.

Our U14's under Padraic Fahy and Hubert Melia have done great work during 2006 and play the county final on May 27th. The next picture of a challenge game against Castlebar Mitchell's played in Cregg in April. A full photo gallery is available by clicking here.
