SELECTION FROM June to October 2006

PICTURES

This Fotofile starts with a Picture of the Annaghdown v Milltown Senior Football League game. Annaghdown had a comprehensive 0-12 to 0-5 win in this game played in Cregg in on June 25th.

The next two photos are from the U10 hurling blitz held in Renmore in June. The first shows Noel O Toole and Michael Whelan offer words of encouragement and this is followed with an action shot of from our game against Castlegar. There is a gallery in our photos section with more action from this event.

Sheamus Healy has done great work with our Junior C Footballers and the next two photos are from the championship clash with Mountbellew/Moylough played on July 7th. There is also a gallery in our photos section with more action from this event.

2006 was a great year for our minor footballers and we have some action photos from their clash with Tuam in the Championship. The first game was a draw but we overcame the famous Stars in a reply on a score 1-11 to 0-9.

Some great effort by the Ladies of the Parish have resulted in a resurgence in our Ladies Football clubs fortunes and in August the fruit of the efforts was reaped with a win over Killererin in the Intermediate Football championship. Our first photo on this theme is of Valerie Scully, Rachel King, Fiona Wynne and Niamh Duggan pictured with the Galway the cup after Annaghdown over came Killererin in a thrilling final in Tuam Stadium on a score line of 2-11 to 2-6. The second is a section of the supporters at the Connacht Ladies Intermediate Club Final in Tourlistrane. That game was a draw but we were unfortunate to lose the replay in Tuam a week later.

"Great oaks from little acorns grow" and this also rings true in the case of underage GAA. Our next photo shows our Under 8 Manager Regis Goulding pictured before an U8 Challenge in Cregg.

We finish our photofile with four pictures from two teams that reached their respective county finals in 2006 with contrasting fortunes. The first a team photo of the minor footballers who lost out to city side St. James on a score of 0-13 to 0-7 in Pearse Stadium on October 8th. The other three are of our successful U12 side which captured the North 'A' League title against Mountbellew/Moylough.
